Our Coach Education programme supports coaches from all sports clubs but especially those from identified Black, Asian and Minority ethnic (BAME) groups or those from Low Social Economic Groups (LSEG). Coach Education sessions will serve to “reduce the likelihood of young people having a poor coaching experience, helping them to start and keep them motivated to continue taking part in sport”. The coach education sessions will emphasise the use of a ‘Game Sensed’ approach to coaching that uses games as the focus of the session. By focusing on the game, rather than on technique practice, players are encouraged to become more tactically aware and make better decisions during the game. Players are encouraged to think strategically about game concepts whilst developing skills within a realistic context and most importantly, all whilst having fun.
