Starlet Tammy Abraham has been named September’s EFL Young Player of the Month.
Currently on loan from Chelsea, the 19-year-old has enjoyed a dream start to life in the Sky Bet Championship.
Abraham has scored 11 goals in the Championship, as well as netting twice on his full England Under-21 debut recently.
He said: “I’m very pleased to win this award. When you have a head coach that believes in you and a good crowd supporting you, it gives you so much confidence going into games.
“As soon as I came here I was made to feel welcome and I have a really good bond with the lads. I have a love for the game and always want to do my best.”
He added: “I knew what to expect when I came out on loan, it’s very important for my development. The Championship is a hard league and it’s important to have the right mentality."
Abraham joins a long list of famous names to have won this award, including Dele Alli, Charlie Austin, Wilfred Zaha and Moussa Dembélé.
City's loan striker has already landed Player of the Month awards from Match of the Day Magazine and The PFA.
