Bryan Keen To Kick On Under Johnson

Joe Bryan appreciates the belief head coach Lee Johnson has shown in him since taking over almost a fortnight ago.

The 22-year-old completed 88 minutes of the win over Ipswich Town last Saturday - Johnson’s first match in charge - following three weeks out with a knee injury.

Johnson coached Bryan as a youngster and the Bristolian feels his new boss can rejuvenate his season.

“It’s nice to work with someone who knows me and my game,” He told Bristol City Player HD.

“I’ve had a sort of up and down season - I’ve struggled a bit with injuries and my performances haven’t been at the level I want.

“To have someone come in and fill me with confidence like he’s done, and start me straight away after being out for weeks, makes me feel like I can improve and really kick on.”

Johnson’s side travel to Buckinghamshire tomorrow to take on familiar foes in MK Dons at Stadium:MK (3pm).

City are unbeaten in their ten matches against the Dons, and Bryan is expecting another enjoyable encounter.

“They’re games we look forward to because they’re proper football matches,” he said.

“We’ve both come up and maybe struggled to adapt but we’re two teams that like to pass it and we always have close game."
