Bristol City have completed the signing of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Ivan Lucic for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, with a further year option, after a recent trial at the club.
Vienna-born Lucic is a regular youth international for Austria, having played for the country’s Under-16s, 17s, 18s and 19s.
He joined German giants Bayern Munich in 2014, after time on the books of Austrian club SV Ried.
After making 15 appearances for Bayern’s second team, he was promoted to the first team ranks as understudy to Manuel Neuer.
“I believe he needs to earn his stripes and previously he’s been a training goalkeeper really at a top club,” head coach Lee Johnson told bcfc.co.uk.
“There’s no compensation for actually playing games, so we’ll look to get him a loan club somewhere. It’s a bit of a punt but one we think is worth taking.”
