Aden Flint wants Bristol City to show their bouncebackability again when Blackburn Rovers visit Ashton Gate tomorrow (3pm).
When City were beaten 4-1 by Fulham back in October, they embarked on a three-game unbeaten run, including an impressive 1-0 win over Wolves at Ashton Gate in their next encounter.
And Flint says they need to display a similar response after taking “a few steps back” in the wake of a 3-0 reverse at Rotherham United last weekend.
“We’ve been working hard in training to try and put right everything we did wrong at Rotherham, and hopefully that we help us secure a good result tomorrow in front of our home fans,” Flint told Bristol City Player HD.
“It’s been a difficult start for us but then we began to find out feet. The result at Rotherham saw us take a few steps back.
“It may have been different if we’d had a midweek game, but it’s felt like a long week leading up to this game with Blackburn.
“It’s how you respond in this league. We went on an unbeaten run after the Fulham game, so we need a similar reply now.
“You’re always learning, of course. I’m enjoying the challenge this league presents, it’s just a shame we haven’t been getting the results we’ve perhaps deserved.”
Blackburn’s nine-goal top scorer Jordan Rhodes is the stand-out threat posed by tomorrow’s visitors. But Flint is keeping a wider brief than that.
“We all know what Jordan Rhodes can do. He’s a top goalscorer and a player we need to keep an eye on,” added the centre-half.
“It’s not just about Jordan Rhodes though. They’ve got threats all over the park and we need to be alert to them throughout the 90 minutes.”
