Lee Johnson says QPR have "big hitters" for the Sky Bet Championship and expects to come up against a pressing game from the hosts tonight (7.45pm).
City will be looking to bounce back immediately from Friday's 2-1 defeat in the Severnside derby at Cardiff City when they head to Loftus Road this evening.
QPR have only won once in their last eight outings, and their previous home win came back in August.
But Johnson insists there will be no complacency in the visiting ranks.
City's head coach told Bristol City Player HD: "They've got some big hitters, some big names for the division.
"They've got the likes of Steven Caulker and Karl Henry, who have been top players for a while now.
"Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink always sets his teams up well. They'll be organised and press well.
"It'll be a difficult game for us and I'm pleased it's come round so quickly after Cardiff because that was a punch in the gut for us."
Tammy Abraham will be assessed after his recent bout of illness.
The match is pay on the night for City supporters, payment by cash only
