John Pemberton has spoken of his delight at Bristol City’s double loan swoop – with Ben Gladwin and Alex Pearce arriving at the club.
The interim manager is thrilled to have added numbers to his squad, albeit the pair won’t be available until Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship match at Leeds United (3pm).
Defender Pearce and midfielder Gladwin join from Derby County and QPR respectively, with both available for the remaining games of the 2015/16 campaign, except for fixtures against their parent clubs.
Pemberton told bcfc.co.uk: “Alex will offer us experience; he knows this division inside out. He’s a good lad and a leader.
“I hope he can share the load with Aden (Flint) and Nathan (Baker) and that’s important. I want to be able to give them a rest; Aden has played every game, every minute.
“When I spoke to Alex, it’s clear how desperate he is to get into the Ireland team for the Euros – if he does that then it means he will have played well for us.
“With regards to Ben, when we played Swindon last year he was always the one we picked out as a danger. He was always the one who caused us problems because he’s a kid with exceptional ability.
“He’s a good ball carrier, can go past people and he’s versatile. He can play as a number ten, he can play wide and hopefully he can add goals from midfield, which is something we need.”
