John Pemberton believes supporters are in for a treat at Ashton Gate tonight as two of the division’s form teams meet in BS3.
The first team coach spent four seasons at Leeds as a player and still holds the club close to his heart.
But his focus will be on stopping his former employers winning a fifth successive match tonight (7.45pm kick-off).
City are also in good form, with just one defeat in their last seven, and Fulham were dispatched 4-0 on Saturday.
“It’ll be a good game for the fans,” Pemberton told Bristol City Player HD.
“Leeds didn’t have the greatest start to the season but they’ve come into form recently and will come to Ashton Gate full of confidence.
“At the same time we’ll be confident on the back of Saturday’s win, so it'll be two form teams going toe-to-toe.”
Discussing his time at Leeds, Pemberton said: “I really enjoyed it there, it’s a great football club.
“Is it lower down the pecking order than it deserves to be? I don’t know, really it is what it is, but any manager that gets that club going and back in the Premier League will be on to a winner.”
City hope to have Tammy Abraham available despite picking up a dead leg injury at Fulham on Saturday.
Gary O’Neil (illness) and Korey Smith (ankle) could come back into the reckoning.
