We have an exciting new opportunity to join our team at Ashton Gate as an Apprentice Grounds Person
The successful candidate will be taught all the skills and techniques you will need to develop a career in sports turf along with gaining an NVQ.

Our Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who is looking to start their career in sports turf and grounds work. This person will love working outdoors and will be fit and able to handle the physical task that this role asks. They will have a positive can do attitude and an enthusiasm for learning.
Your contribution to the team includes:
- Cutting training ground and stadium pitches
- Marking out lines for a variety of pitches Inc. Ashton Gate stadium pitch
- Assisting in set up of training and match day operations
- Help log rain fall and soil temperatures
- Ensure all sites adhere to health safety regulations
- Assist in any grounds tasks as required
Your learning will mostly be practical and you will generally assist the grounds team in all areas of grounds work throughout your apprenticeship. You will complete 1 day per week at college.
What you need to be successful:
There is no experience required for this role as full training is given however experience working in a similar environment or a qualification in horticulture would be desirable.
Successful applicants must hold a full drivers license or have evidence of working towards their license (this is due to the equipment we use and location).
This role requires working evenings and weekends so you must be able to manage a flexible working pattern.
Successful candidates will be subject to DBS checks.
Salary: £5.00 per hour apprentice wage
