Community development officer, Craig Capel and community coach, Nick George battled through the pain barrier as part of a four-man team at the Endure24 event near Reading, to raise funds for the Community Foundation.
The pair were joined Andy Simmonds and Josh Leat of City West Commercials at the event branded ‘Glastonbury for runners’, which featured an 8km cross-country course with the aim to complete as many laps as possible in a 24-hour period – starting at 12pm on Saturday afternoon and concluding at 12pm on Sunday.
The team completed 80 miles by 12.30am before a self-imposed running curfew until 4am allowed some much needed rest and sleep.

The last run was completed at 12.04pm on Sunday afternoon, with all four members completing 30 miles.
Craig said: “The whole event was a step into the unknown particularly with a limited amount of training completed in the last few months.
“Having run the London Marathon a few years ago, I knew it wasn’t going to be a walk in the park, but having the support of three other teammates made it more achievable by not wanting to let your mates down.”
