Marshall has visited the Foundation’s Project Rugby sessions at Broad Plain RFC to see the action up close – and also hailed the overall work of the Bristol Sport charities.
“All three of our sporting charities do some tremendous work in the community and they truly are a credit to the clubs and the wider organisation.
“This season in particular, I’ve gotten to know more and more about the Bristol Bears Community Foundation’s Spectrum Project and their overall special educational needs provision.
“From volunteering at Project Rugby sessions at Broad Plain on Monday lunchtimes, I have seen up close the life-changing impact of the charity’s work.
“It’s also been amazing to see young people from the Disability Journalism and Work Experience Programmes fully integrated at Ashton Gate matchdays, working in the community corner and going behind the scenes to meet players and coaches.
“It is for those reasons that I’ve decided to fundraise for the Spectrum Project at this year’s Break the Cycle.
“I haven’t cycled properly for a number of years, but with a few training rides under my belt, I can’t wait to get stuck into the event’s 60-mile Silver Route.”
