The Jets are excited to announce the signing of Alex and Ben Lane for the start of the new National Badminton League season.
The Brothers, hailing from Exmouth, will link up with Chris Coles and coach, Rebecca Pantaney, as the latest players to join the new Bristol badminton franchise.
Alex, whose accolades include 13 times Junior National Champion, European Junior Singles Champion as well as his first Senior Championship win in Slovakia last August, told Bristol Sport:
“We’re really excited to be part of a brand new team. Being from the South West, there was no question that we wanted to play for the Jets.
“Bristol Sport has a really interesting vision for badminton within the group of sports and the excitement that is building towards the start of the new season is palpable.
“Speaking on behalf of my brother and I, we will bring a youthful exuberance to the team and being a singles player, hopefully I can win some matches and put some points on the board.
“Obviously it would be great to challenge the top teams in our first year but we are well aware of the quality in the NBL.
“Ben has achieved so much at such a young age (18) being a double European Champion, as well as his age group successes and his first major international championship win in Spain last month in the mixed doubles.”
You will have the chance to watch both of the Lane brothers in action in October, when the NBL season kicks off at the SGS Wise Arena.
