Latty joins the Bristol-based group after nearly a decade with Liverpool Football Club as Vice President of Global Partnership Sales. His career began at Chelsea before moving to Fulham, then to the NBA, before joining Liverpool in 2013.
Bristol Sport, which is owned by Steve Lansdown CBE, includes Bristol City men and women, Bristol Bears men and women and Bristol Flyers Basketball team. Headquartered at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol Sport is the “team behind the team” and uses the collective power of its sporting group to drive sustainable success.
Latty said: “I can’t wait to get started. I’m originally from the West Country and I’ve been keeping an eye on Bristol Sport since its inception. I’ve been impressed by its vision and the ambition of the Lansdown family to make Bristol a sporting city.
“I’m really looking forward to this next challenge and the uniqueness of multiple sports under one single ownership. I believe my experience within not just Premier League football clubs but with the NBA and exposure to large international brands, will help drive us forwards.”
Latty will lead the existing commercial team and join the Bristol Sport board alongside Managing Director Mark Kelly, Group CFO Gavin Marshall, Group Communications Director Lisa Knights and Chairman Jon Lansdown.
Mark Kelly commented: “We’re delighted to have Ben joining us. He comes in at board level and will spearhead the commercial side of the business.
“It’s a really exciting time with the stadium getting back to business; the High Performance Centres both now complete; Richard Gould joining Bristol City and of course the next phase of Ashton Gate’s development with the Sporting Quarter planned for 2023/24.
“This is the next piece in the puzzle – to consolidate our commercial team and attract a bigger international footprint for our sporting group. The aspiration has always been to put Bristol on the sporting map and Ben’s addition will certainly help us achieve that.”
Latty officially joins the team August 16th, 2021.
