It’s the first time that swimmers from Clifton High have qualified for the finals which take place next month at London’s Olympic Aquatic Centre.
Qualification was confirmed today (Friday) following the completion of regional relay events across the country. Eight swimmers from Clifton High’s Bristol Sport Swim Programme competed at a SW regional event held at Millfield School earlier this month. Fielding teams in both the Intermediate (Years 9 & 10) and Senior (Year 11+) age groups in the 4 x 50m Freestyle and 4 x 50m Medley Relays.
All eight girls swam personal bests to record fourth-place finishes in the Intermediate age group 4 x 50m Freestyle and the Seniors 4x50m Medley relays, finishing just behind the three top teams in the country.
