With regular categories of Innovation & Technology, Customer Excellence and Family Business all still making an appearance, the COVID-19 Business Hero Award was new for 2020. Designed to recognise the companies that reacted to the pandemic and pivoted the way they operated to be a force for good.

On winning the award Mark Kelly, Managing Director for Bristol Sport & Ashton Gate Stadium said: “We are thrilled to have won this award. It goes to all our staff and the people that volunteered and came together, to help us make a such positive impact on our community, through what has been a very tough year.

“Throughout the pandemic the stadium has remained a beacon of hope, finding new ways to operate and deliver support to our local community. By adapting the stadium – be it for food relief and our partnership with FareShare SW, working with the NHS to support its Covid-19 effort or delivering a drive-in panto this Christmas to provide some much-needed light relief. We are proud of our place in the heart of our community.”

A special dinner is set to take place in Spring 2021 (health guidelines permitting), to recognise the winners and sponsors.
