Forever Sport key features
Forever Sport partner schools receive a wide range of support and resources as part of their package, including complimentary programmes and tickets to watch professional matches, however, at the heart of Forever Sport is a first class primary school PE and sports coaching programme with the following key features:
Consistent Head Coach
To ensure consistency of delivery, each partner school will be assigned one experienced and highly qualified head coach for the whole academic year. This will allow the coach to become part of the school community, thus supporting the development of strong relationships and a clear understanding of school procedures and expectations. Our head coaches are responsible for micro-managing their schools with a focus on excellence in every aspect of our provision.
We advocate a two-coach model for our in-curriculum coaching delivery to ensure a low pupil to coach ratio, enhance the effectiveness of our teacher mentoring and to ensure that safeguarding is prioritised.
Sport Specialist Coaches
Alongside the head coach we will provide sport specialist coaches who will provide unrivalled subject knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for their individual sport. We believe this passion and enthusiasm is often the key to children falling in love with a particular sport.
Full Journey Teacher Mentoring
The up-skilling of teaching staff is an important feature of our Forever Sport offer. This supports the Department of Education’s PE and sport premium guidance: “the premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport”.
Our head coaches assess the pupils each term. This data will be available for use by the school and will be easy to interpret, creating a very useful resource for Ofsted, Healthy Schools certification and parent teacher evenings.
After School Clubs
We provide after-school clubs for KS1 and KS2 that are designed to be fun and active for all participants. We have an efficient online booking and payment system for our clubs which makes the process very easy for parents and minimises administration for our schools.
After school club attendees receive complimentary tickets to see either Bristol City FC, Bristol Rugby, Bristol Flyers Basketball or Gloucestershire Cricket. Each week an attendee is chosen as the MVP (most valuable player) and given a Forever Sport reward.
Impact Reporting – New for 2018
Through the use of our new impact reporting dashboard we will be able to provide an impact report, when required, to demonstrate the impact of our Forever Sport delivery. This will include a curriculum delivery overview, pupil assessments, We Love Sport reports (please go to page 10 to find out more about the We Love Sport programme) and data on after school club numbers as well as an overview of your pupils’ attendance at Bristol Sport holiday camps and match days.
