Nascence enables employees from businesses to interact with the Foundation’s broad and diverse range of community programmes in a rich and meaningful way.
By volunteering on any one of the programmes, businesses will have the opportunity to be part of something special and experience first-hand, the positive impact sport has on the lives of Bristolians of all ages and from all backgrounds.
From our Reading Stars programme - which helps primary school children, aged between seven and 11, improve their literacy skills using sport as an engagement tool – to the sponsorship of an entire community programme, Nascence offers a whole variety of ways in which businesses can inspire the community using the power of sport.
A number of businesses have already immersed themselves in the new initiative, with Bristol Energy sponsoring the Foundation’s Forever Sport programme and staff signing up to support Reading Stars, alongside volunteers from Bond Dickinson, Santander and Ashton Gate. The volunteers on this programme act as ‘Reading Buddies’, helping children practice their reading with one-to-one tutoring on a weekly basis.
Reading Stars is currently being delivered in four Bristol schools – St Mary Redcliffe Primary, Hotwells Primary, Millpond Primary and Birdwell Primary – with volunteers signing up for a six to seven-week term.
