Break The Cycle has raised vital funds for Bristol Bears Community Foundation and Bristol Sport Foundation since its inception 13 years ago.
This year’s event on Sunday, July 16th, will give participants and charities the chance to raise money through sponsorship for a cause of their choice for the first time, while the funds raised through entry fees will go to Bristol Bears Community Foundation to sustain and grow their multi award-winning charity.
Participants can choose to cycle one of three brand new routes through the Mendips, designed by triple Olympian Oli Beckingsale. Riders can take a Bronze (42 miles), Silver (66 miles) or Gold (100 mile) cycle loop, that all start and finish at Ashton Gate Stadium.
Depending on your cycling ability and how much of a challenge you are up for, there is something for everyone and the event promises to be an amazing day in the saddle.
And the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust has already signed up for this year’s event, adding Break The Cycle to its challenge page for those who wish to raise money for the charity.
Ben Hilton, Chief Executive Officer at Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, said:
“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Bristol Sport Foundation on the Break the Cycle event. It’s an exciting challenge for us to be involved in and massively impactful that Bristol Sport has opened this up for other charities to benefit from.
“Big shout out to all our riders who will be raising funds so Dame Kelly Holmes Trust can continue to put world-class athletes shoulder to shoulder with young people, in the South West and across the UK to improve their health, well-being and aspirations. Thanks to the Bristol Sport Foundation team for the opportunity!”
Ben Breeze, Chief Community Officer at Bristol Sport Foundation, said:
“We’re delighted to offer Break The Cycle 2023 as a vehicle to raise funds for individual fundraisers or charities.
