Starting this week and inspired by the heroics of Captain Tom Moore, St Mary’s and St Helen’s pupils have been undertaking a daily personal challenge – ranging from climbing flights of stairs, to laps of the garden – all in aid of their chosen charity, which raises money for Southmead Hospital and community health services in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
Having originally set themselves a target of £1,000, by Wednesday morning, the schools had already raised an incredible £5,038.
They have also received the backing of some very famous faces, with Olympic silver medallist, Colin Jackson, Team GB judo bronze medallist, Sally Conway, England cricketer, Heather Knight and Bristol Flyers basketball star, Marcus Delpeche, all sending in their messages of good luck.
