The Foundation has been working in partnership with Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol City Robins Foundation, Bristol Bears Community Foundation and FareShare UK to distribute food to thousands of people in the city – and the charity’s fundraiser will help to enable the continuation of this life-changing initiative.

Starting on Monday, May 18th, 26 members of staff will undertake a different sporting challenge over the course of six days, as they aim to raise £1,000 to support the cause.

Chief Community Officer, Ben Breeze, said: “Throughout this unprecedented time, we have continued to support many of our partner schools and the communities throughout greater Bristol.

“Several of our coaches have been out every Tuesday and Thursday delivering lunches to schools and families around greater Bristol, and since April 21st, the team have delivered 885 packed lunches, that have been prepared by volunteers from the Bristol Sport family.

“We would not have been able to provide this support without the help of FareShare Bristol, who we first partnered up with in October 2019, in an attempt to ease holiday hunger.

“Some of the money raised from this challenge will also be donated to support Feeding Bristol Homeless. We partnered with Bristol Feeding Homeless following our February 2020 half term holiday camp provision. We found ourselves with excess food from FareShare’s donation and wanted to put it to good use.

“It has been fantastic to be working alongside our partner charities to make a real difference to our communities.”
