This term has seen the netball grassroots offerings both settle and grow in the various streams. Nailsea Rockets and Redlands Rockets hub clubs now have a regular attendance in the U11 and U16 sections, and enquiries from word of mouth and a golden ticket incentive continue to promote the clubs at the Avon Schools High Fives Festival.
The South Gloucestershire development Hub has a regular attendance of 26 – and the future is looking even brighter for the sport in Term Three, with the High Fives Bristol festival and the North Somerset Schools Project.
Programme manager, Lynne Giles, said: “The success of the Roses at the Commonwealths has really inspired girls to get involved in netball.
“Clubs locally are bursting at the seams, so we’re happy to be able to provide access to netball for girls in the area, as well as a pathway for players to improve their skills, compete or play for fun.”
