Break The Cycle is Bristol Sport Foundation’s annual cycling fundraiser and has supported the Bristol Bears Community Foundation since its inception 13 years ago.
Participants can choose between the Bronze route (33 miles), Silver route (66 miles) and Gold route (100 miles), with all the money raised from the entry fees going to the Bears Community Foundation to sustain and grow the multi award-winning charity.
As part of this year’s event, Bristol Bears are offering every rider taking part in Break The Cycle two complimentary tickets to their pre-season game against West Country rivals Exeter Chiefs, which kicks off at 7.45pm on Friday, September 1st.
Ben Breeze, Chief Community Officer at Bristol Sport Foundation, said:
“We are proud to work in partnership with Bristol Bears and Bristol Bears Community Foundation. Break The Cycle is a fantastic fundraising and team-building event that has raised much needed charitable funding for more than 10 years.
“The donation of complimentary tickets from Bristol Bears for the Bears versus Chiefs pre-season game adds even more value to the entry fee and we hope it will inspire even more cyclists in Bristol sign up to this crucial event.”
Craig Capel, Bears Community Foundation’s Community Development Manager, said:
“We can feel the excitement around the event beginning to build as we look forward to Sunday 16th, only two weeks away! Having recently completed a 100-mile ride in support of the Foundation a couple of weeks back, I’m rather jealous of the riders who will have the chance to get on their bikes, enjoy the fabulous new routes, and celebrate their achievement as they return to Ashton Gate Stadium.
“Huge thanks to Bristol Bears for their support and generous offer of complimentary tickets for those that sign up for BTC 2023. The pre-season fixture against Exeter is the first chance to see how the squad is preparing for the new season ahead and yet another opportunity to celebrate BTC 2023 engagement for our much-valued riders and sponsors.”
Break The Cycle offers a choice of routes for cyclists of all abilities.
Cyclists will be able to celebrate completing their chosen route, all designed by Olympian Oli Beckingsale, with a free Nando’s and refreshments at the finish line.
