The largest charity fundraising event in the South West took place on Sunday, with 12,748 runners enduring a two lap 13.1 mile course straddling both sides of the River Avon.
All funds raised from the event in support of the Community Trust will assist the club’s official charity in delivering its invaluable disability football provision and associated programmes.
Dan White, the Community Trust’s head of operations, said: “I would like to thank all of the runners who not only completed the 13.1 miles but spent time fundraising for the Trust.
“It was a fantastic occasion for all involved. The money raised will help support our disability provision in South Bristol enabling a range of disabled children and adults access to fantastic facilities and high quality coaching free of charge.
“A special thank you goes to Georgina Fell from Run Events who organised the fundraising efforts, hosting several events in the process to help boost donations. The estimated total is in excess of £7,000, which will go a long way to improving the disability provision in the city.”
Supporters can still donate to this fantastic cause by visiting the Trust’s official JustGiving page.
The next charitable event will see City team up with the Community Trust and Children’s Hospice South West to host a Charity Golf Day at Mendip Spring Golf Club.
The event will be held on Tuesday, March 21st and attendees will have the opportunity to partner members of the first team squad and club members, whilst raising worthwhile funds.
