The 17 year-old was driving in confident mood following the conclusion of a season in which he finished third in the British Karting Championship, winning the most races in the process.

The day was set up by Will Fewkes of Renault sport UK along with Philip Glew – acting as driver coach for Connor. Philip is currently ITV commentator and an ex-British touring car and GT driver, giving Hall some great experience to draw from.

Getting a few steady laps under his belt early on, the Bristol Sport racer began to feel at home behind the wheel of the 230bhp Clio – putting in lap times consistent with more seasoned drivers.

Glews praised Hall’s late braking around the track, something highly unusual for a newcomer.

Hall will be taking to the track again soon for more testing days, look out for updates on bristol-sport.co.uk.
