The Jets are pleased to announce the inclusion of Bristolian, Jess Hopton, in the 2016/17 NBL Squad for their first season of competition.

Hopton, who was born and raised in Downend, Bristol will join up with the newly created Badminton outfit ahead of their first game of the season next Monday against Derby

Hopton told Bristol Sport: “It was a really easy decision for me to sign.

“I have worked with Rebecca [Pantaney], the head coach since I was 9. We met on an England camp and she has coached me ever since, so there was no doubt in my mind when she asked me if I would join.

“I cannot wait for the home fixtures. Being a local girl, I cant wait to play in-front of my family and friends and help create what I am sure will the a fantastic atmosphere at the Wise Arena.

“I hope my personality and motivation will add to the group that has already been assembled and that my age and experience will act as a middle ground between the younger and older players in the squad.”

At 19, Jess has won 6 Junior National titles as well as being crowned U19 Swiss Women’s Doubles and Singles Champion in 2015.

Bristol Jets kick off their debut NBL Season on Monday, November 9 against Team Derby.

Season cards are available now from the official Bristol Sport ticketing website.
