“I think we are where I expected us to be,” said the Vixens Manager.
“We need to continue to improve on certain areas of our game, but that was always going to be the case. Every game I can see improvements and I’m certain that will continue for the remainder of the Spring Series, it is an exciting time.”
Coming into the Spring Series, Kirk says the squad were putting emphasis on performance purely.
“The beauty of this competition is that there is no relegation, so that enables us to go and play freely and see how we get on,” he added.
“Every game I am learning things about my players, some performances have really pleased me and others have given me an idea of where we need to improve.”
The Vixens sit seventh in the table, with one win and three losses.
“We remained level headed after our win at Yeovil and we haven’t been too disappointed with our losses,” said Kirk
“No disrespect, but we have taken into account the opposition and we knew there would be tougher games to come like we saw against Manchester City Women.”
Birmingham are up next for the Vixens and Kirk says the squad are preparing well for the trip to the Midlands.
“We had some time off and the squad have come in re-focused and feeling fresh.
“We know the threats that Birmingham will bring, they are a physical side who move the ball well and we have to be ready to go from the first whistle.”
