Lansdown Club Member, Della Hudson is fundraising for ‘It’s in the Bag’ to support men with testicular cancer in the South West.

The Bristol City season ticket holder and player sponsor was moved after one of her clients was diagnosed with the disease, but it was caught early – saving his life.

And now she wants to raise more awareness of one of the less common cancers.

Della, who has become a Lansdown Club Associate Member this season, said: “I don’t think there is enough awareness around testicular cancer.

“I wanted to do my part to raise awareness as early diagnosis often means more effective treatment and better chances of a cure.

“There is around a 95 per cent survival rate if it is caught early. Men just have to have a fumble on a monthly basis and check for changes or anything unusual.”

Della’s first triathlon kicked off on May bank with the Hot Chilli Challenge Triathlon in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. She completed the course in around three and half hours.

She said: “I used to be very active, but then children and my business took up a lot of time and I felt very unfit.”

But now she is set to compete in a series of triathlons – three of which will at “Olympic” distance, including a 1,500m swim in open water, 40km bike ride then 10km run.

Della’s next triathlon will take place during the next bank holiday on May 25, for the Westonbirt Sprint Tri in South Gloucestershire.
