Norton Hill School, Thornbury Town FC and Kingfisher Netball Club are just some of the schools and clubs in Bristol that have signed up to the Free Kit Initiative With Bristol Sport and Sky Sports.
Coinciding with Bristol being EU Green Capital 2015, Sky is asking people to return any unwanted old Sky boxes and broadband routers to their local club or school. Each box returned will earn Sky Kit Reward points. Once the equipment has been collected (by courier partner Parcel Force), a voucher code will be issued to each club or school to redeem their points from the Bristol Sport online store. A huge selection of sports kit, from full playing strips, to team wear, training wear, sets of balls, cones and bibs will be available. All major sports will be catered for, so start asking your club members to dig out their old boxes from the garages and lofts, and start collecting! Just 10 boxes will provide a set of 14 Sky Sports branded football shirts.
A Sky Spokesman said: “We are really excited by this programme and delighted to partner with Bristol Sport. With the city being the EU Green capital for 2015 it is a great launchpad for this initiative. At Sky we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and there are literally 100’s of thousands of our old boxes just sitting somewhere in our customers’ homes.”
“All clubs and schools need to do is to go to the website: www.skykitrewards.com register themselves as a collection point and then get their members, families and friends to bring in their old Sky boxes and routers. Just three boxes will earn a bundle of playing equipment, and if a club or school could find 25 boxes from their group, they can get for example, a full set of bespoke rugby strip, there are lots of options and we can provide kit for all the major sports”
Bristol Sport CEO Andrew Billingham added: “This is a fantastic initiative and we are proud to partner with Sky Sports. All the clubs and schools who sign up to the scheme will be invited to Ashton Gate Stadium to have their kit presented on a matchday.
“Each participating club or school will have six weeks to get their members, families and friends to search out as much Sky equipment as they can and maximise the free sports kit. At a time when many community clubs and schools struggle with the cost of sports provision this really is a brilliant opportunity to get something for nothing.”
Sky Kit Rewards will run until October 31st.
