Nino Genua is a young man with Downs Syndrome, and his journey has seen him progress from the Work Experience programme through to coaching on the Foundation’s Walking Rugby programme.

It’s a story that Terry says ‘blew him away’, leading to the Bristol-based construction company making a generous donation.

“We attended the Gala Dinner in December and were completely blown away by the case studies shown on the night,” he said.

“The story of Nino Genua was the one that hit the hardest – showing his journey from the Spectrum Work Experience programme, to now coaching in the community.

“It shows how the programme is helping to break down boundaries in the community and we are so happy to be able to contribute to the future of this magnificent programme.”

In addition to his financial donation, Terry has also offered extended work experience placements at Lancer Scott, to pupils who have graduated the Foundation’s WEX scheme.

“From its earliest routes, Bristol Rugby Community Foundation’s Work Experience Programme (WEX) has been meeting the needs of truly special individuals,” said programme manager, Kris Tavender.

“Now with the generosity and support of Lancer Scott, our ability to meet needs across the city and for all abilities just grows and grows. Watch out Bristol, here we come.”
