Ashton Gate serves up three-course vegan menus ahead of VegFestUK 2017

The VegfestUK team were invited by the Ashton Gate hospitality and catering team to sample some of their dishes in preparation for their in-house restaurant’s full offer of vegan cuisine at the upcoming VegfestUK Bristol on May 26-27.

And they certainly hit the spot with their 3-course vegan menu which offers not only rich taste and flavour but also diversity to suit a variety of taste buds.

The VegfestUK tasting team had a really awesome experience in one of the hospitality boxes with the quality food on offer, and before the big event in May, the organisers would like to demonstrate to their followers in this blog post, the effort and ingenuity from our new event venue in showcasing the depth and breadth of flavours, textures of plant-based cuisine in style.

This 3-course menu will be available at the event on May 26-27, by pre-order only. Details of bookings will be available shortly as well as times when the restaurant is open and serving. Please email info@vegfest.co.uk to request a booking form when and once available.

Supporters tickets are also available for those who wish to enjoy the hospitality features on Level 3, plus a goody bag on arrival and priority entrance – see the link here for details.

The VegfestUK team added: “We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Ashton Gate for the invitation to the tasting session, and we look forward to announcing to our supporters in a few weeks’ time, when pre-book menus from the restaurant at VegfestUK Bristol will be available for booking in advance.

"This new feature is expected to add a new dimension of in-house dining to VegfestUK’s currently mouthwatering selection of vegan street food, and it is our hope that visitors to VegfestUK Bristol have a really good experience at our re-developed event at this superb new venue.”

The in-house restaurant at Ashton Gate will add to a diverse mix of activities at this year’s VegfestUK Bristol, including an outdoor VegfestUK “fan village” with street food caterers, around 30 Traders and Live Music from 2 stages to complement the indoor mix of around 220 Stalls, Talks, Cookery demos and a Kids Area during the day, followed by Comedy, Magicians, an Electro Swing Lounge and a Blues Lounge in the evenings.

Tickets to VegfestUK Bristol are currently on BUY ONE GET ONE HALF PRICE until the end of April at www.bristol.vegfest.co.uk/tickets

“It is fantastic that we have been able to support VegFest 2018 to continue its history here in Bristol."

Mark Kelly, managing director, Ashton Gate Stadium

Mark Kelly, Ashton Gate managing director, said: "We're delighted to host the festival at Ashton Gate in May. It is fantastic that we have been able to support VegFest 2018 to continue its history here in Bristol."

Running from 11am-11pm on Saturday and from 11am-9pm on Sunday, VegfestUK welcomes a whole new set of features as well as retaining its traditional flavours in the form of more than 200 stalls, spread over three main concourses.

The flagship Lansdown Restaurant, which can hold up to a thousand theatre-style, will play host to a variety of educational talks and cookery demos, all of which will run until 6pm each day. Meanwhile, ten outdoor catering stalls will line Marina Dolman Way along the Lansdown Stand recreating a matchday “fan village” with local DJ’s and acoustic acts adding to the outdoor atmosphere.

Comedians, live acts, magicians and a club night staged indoors during the evenings will all contribute to the carnival feel of the festival.

VegfestUK will also be working closely with Bristol City Football and Bristol Rugby to promote the event to sports fans, as well as their local engagement schemes within the Bristol community.
