A Bristol quartet preparing to row more than 3,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic ocean in December, raised awareness of their challenge at last weekend’s Bristol Harbour Festival.
Bristol Sport Foundation has pitched in to help the fundraising efforts of the ‘Nuts Over the Atlantic’ team - who will take on the Talisker Whiskey Challenge in little under six months time – with a £5,000 donation, as they raise money for The November Foundation.
Dan Baker, Steve Baker, Mark Gibson and Jon Lakin showcased their Bristol Sport Foundation-branded boat during the city’s hugely popular summer festival – and Jon said the opportunity to exhibit their vessel at the Harbour Festival was hugely beneficial.
“We proudly represented and raised awareness of the Bristol Sport Foundation at Bristol’s Harbour Festival this weekend,” he said.
“We not only had our ocean rowing boat on display for the duration of the festival but also showcased it by rowing up the harbour, whilst being interviewed about the upcoming Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
“It is fantastic to have Bristol Sport Foundation on board, their support in the weeks preceding the event was invaluable and a massive boost to the campaign.”
