Bristol Teenager Bags First National Victory in Tour of Bedford Race

Bethany Taylor, from Keynsham, won the Elite Ladies National Team Series Stage One Tour of Bedford Race over the bank holiday weekend.

The 17-year-old Wellsway School student has had a great cycling season so far, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Laura Trott, Dani King and Dame Sarah Storey in her earlier races.

Beth already scored twelfth and fifth in the first two series rounds and had a great opening day, riding near the front in the 50k road race in the three day tour.

A crash in the final few kilometres caused some riders to slow up but Beth attacked hard, holding her lead up the last hill to secure her first national win.
