BSF case study: 'Sport has built Fletcher's confidence'

A wonderful, heartwarming story from our We Love Sport programme, showcasing how sport has changed the life of young Fletcher, after his early struggles with dyslexia had dented his all-round confidence.

We Love Sport is a participation and education programme that equips young people with the physical and mental characteristics they need to access, enjoy and succeed in sport and active recreation throughout their life.

We Love Sport is a participation and education programme that assesses and supports young people with the physical and mental characteristics required to access, enjoy and succeed in sport and active recreation throughout their lives.

The programme assesses the baseline fitness, fundamental sports skills and physical literacy of primary school pupils. Identified children are invited to attend our free of charge WLS Hubs, which take place in the evening.

We Love Sport benefits tremendously from the broad sport specific knowledge that exists within the Bristol Sport charities, professional sports clubs and partner organisations. The programme’s philosophy is that our end goal is that the children who receive the programme enjoy lifelong participation in sport and active lives whether at a grassroots level or on the international stage.
