Community Trust's EFL Girls Cup Proves A Big Hit

Bristol City Community Trust enjoyed a hugely successful EFL Girls Cup competition at South Bristol Sports Centre on Thursday.

Gordano School were crowned champions after defeating Downend in the final, to cap an entertaining tournament.

The English Football League Girls Cup comprises of a six-a-side competition for Under-13s (Years 7 and 8), which involves over 20,000 children creating one of the country’s largest national football competitions.

The competition is designed to inspire children to be active, healthy and develop a strong sense of team work, whilst providing them with the opportunity to live their dream and play on the Wembley pitch.

The winners of the divisional northern and southern finals will then progress to the national final, where they will have the unique opportunity to play on the Wembley pitch ahead of the EFL Sky Bet Championship Play-Off final.
