First Successful Test Of The Season For Zamparelli

Dino Zamparelli has had a successful first week of testing behind the wheel of his new Porsche Carrera. The Bristol Sport driver made his Porsche Carrera Cup UK debut at the first testing session of 2015 at Silverstone last Friday and today (Wednesday) at Brands Hatch.

Run by Gatwick based Parr Motorsport, Dino enjoyed his first outing in the 470 BHP powered Porsche sports car, completing around 70 laps on a damp Silverstone circuit. The test was unofficial, which means there were no official timings, however, Zamparelli was satisfied with his first day behind the wheel.

“The first test is always a bit of a nervous occasion, as you want to know how you’ll get on in the new office! I’m, pleased to say that the first outing of 2015 went really well and I’m happy with how we progressed as a team.

“We never really look at how fast the stop watch is saying for the first few days in the car, it’s purely about me learning and understanding. I have a lot to learn, as the car is a little bit different to drive than a single seater. The fundamentals are all pretty much the same, but it will take a bit of time to get used to the steering, the brakes, the amount of aero grip and so on.”

After completing his first week of testing the 22 year-old Bristolian is confident he will be ready in time for the first race of the Porsche Carrera Cup UK at Brands Hatch on April 4th.

“The first test is always a good indicator and I felt quite comfortable and at home really early on.  I started pushing the car to the limit and enjoying my laps, which is always good.

“We have a few more test days to come and I’m eager to get out in the dry, as this first test was in the wet. Overall though, I’m pleased and happy with the first day and excited to get back out again.”
