Howzat? Bristol Sport Foundation teams up with Gloucestershire Cricket Board

Bristol Sport Foundation has teamed up with Gloucestershire Cricket Board to add cricket to the ever-growing number of sports included in the Forever Sport programme.

Forever Sport harnesses the combined expertise and resources within the Bristol Sport group, as well as external sporting bodies to provide a unique and comprehensive primary school PE and sports coaching programme.

The addition of cricket will see coaches from Gloucestershire Cricket Board deliver exciting and engaging cricket sessions in primary schools across Greater Bristol.

“We’re delighted to partner up with Gloucestershire Cricket Board,” said programme manager, Tom Monks.

“The partnership will provide our partner primary schools with specialist cricket coaching to enthuse and inspire their pupils, helping them to fall in love with the sport.”

“We’re extremely excited to be in partnership with Bristol Sport Foundation and feel privileged to be involved in the Forever Sport programme,” said Gloucestershire Cricket Board project manager, Chris Munden.

“This programme offers young people a fantastic opportunity and we are delighted that cricket is now a part of the schools offer.”

Children who attend the after-school cricket clubs will be invited to watch Gloucestershire County Cricket club in action next season, while the links forged with local clubs will also allow them to continue their passion for the game outside of school.
