Integral Build Appointed To Complete Ashton Gate Fit Out

Refurbishment, construction and fit out specialists Integral Build has been appointed by Bristol Sport to complete the fit out of the new Ashton Gate Stadium and will be behind much of the fans' experience for the 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship season.

While the big demolition and construction work transforms the ground, the Bristol-based company is hard at work on some of the less obvious features that will help create a world class sports stadium.

From the club store to the Sports Bar and Grill,  Integral Build is responsible for the interior fit out of the project which will involve thousands of square metres of resin flooring, a zinc topped bar, multi-media wall including one of the UK's largest indoor screens and high spec finishes.  It has also had to deal with challenges such as creating a level floor on the old covered indoor bowls green (with its surrounding trough), that was an original feature of the Dolman Stand.

Tim Stringer, Divisional Director, said: “We have worked closely with KKA Architects to ensure this really is a world class experience that creates a wow factor for fans, from the moment they walk through the turnstile.

“Obviously it's a challenge working in a live environment and as part of a massive project with a number of different contractors on site. The work will continue after the season has started because we have had to plan it in phases, working from the top down. We have never had all Bristol Rugby’s and Bristol City’s fixtures on a work programme before!

“Being based in Bristol, we are thrilled to be part of what is one of the landmark construction projects of the year and something we can all be really proud of.”

Bristol Sport CEO Andrew Billingham added: “During the tender process Integral demonstrated a high level of expertise and a real passion to be part of our journey of delivering an amazing stadium for the city.

“Naturally as long-term sponsors of Bristol Rugby it has been good to get them involved in the rebuild project. Seeing local companies inspired by our vision of making Bristol a sporting city underlines that we have the opportunity to create something truly special here.

“The new South Stand and refurbished Dolman Stand will be open for Bristol City’s first home game of the season against Brentford on August 15th. As fans return for the new football and rugby seasons we will be asking for feedback on their stadium experience to ensure we ultimately provide the best possible venue.”

The £45m rebuild of Ashton Gate Stadium is due for completion in the summer of 2016. It is the home of Championship clubs Bristol City FC and Bristol Rugby. Once finished, it will become a 27,000-capacity stadium and the largest conference and events venue in the south west of England.
