Jets Community Academy off to a flying start

Nearly 40 youngsters took part in the opening Bristol Jets Academy session at Gordano School Community Trust Sports Centre last week.

Children aged between nine and 16 attended the session, all of whom were specifically invited from the Avon county squad.

As well as expert badminton coaching, the budding badminton stars will also receive strength and conditioning training during the programme, which runs every Thursday throughout the season.

“It was really exciting to see all the preparation come together for the first time and witness our young players receiving coaching which will support them to develop and compete on a national level,” said community development manager and county chair, Claire Buckingham.
