Katie Swan Loses In Quarter-Finals

Bristol's Katie Swan crashed out of the Wimbledon girls' singles at the quarter-final stage following a straight sets defeat to unseeded Viktoria Kuzmova.

Fifth-seed Swan was overpowered from the baseline by her Slovakian opponent, 7-6 (7-2) 6-0.

The 16 year-old appeared to be struggling with an injury throughout, receiving medical at 3-0 in the second set.

It's been a good year for the Bristol-born tennis star, finishing runner-up in the Australian Open girls' singles before making her WTA Tour Debut and reaching the second round of Wimbledon qualifying.
