Bristol's Lily Owsley has been nominated for the Federation of International Hockey's Rising Star of The Year Award.
The nomination caps a remarkable year for the 21-year-old who helped Great Britain to their first European Hockey title for 24 years earlier in the summer.
Owsley played a key role in the final against a Netherlands side playing on home soil, scoring a late equaliser to take the game to penalties.
Lily also helped GB to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio following a tough qualifying tournament in Valencia.
It was all the more remarkable considering the Bristol-born hockey player had recovered from a bout of viral meningitis earlier in the year.
