NOTA update: "We paused for a bit on Christmas Day, but not for long"

Nuts Over The Atlantic’s Talisker Whiskey Challenge campaign took a short break on Christmas Day, but the festive celebrations didn’t last long as the quartet got back to work on the waves.

The Bristol-based team continue to make ground on the other race competitors, but must battle strong winds and large waves from all directions, which have slowed them down somewhat.

“We were smashed by a wave before coming into the cabin, and Dan cracked the bucket. We've already lost one, so are now down to one,” said Jon Lakin.

"The weather is okay, but we spend most of our time in our coats because of the spray and random waves, I’ve no idea how people row naked, it must be freezing,” he added.

Steve Baker added: "We paused for a bit on Christmas Day, but not for long to be honest.

“I did actually see some wildlife today though - a massive fish jumped out of the water a couple of times."
