Nuts Over The Atlantic say they are in ‘high spirits’ as they approach the halfway stage of their Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge 2017.
The quartet, who started the race three days late after experiencing issues with their boat, have quickly made ground on the rest of the pack and are now 1646 NM from the finish.
"We had a nice team talk today so spirits are high,” said Dan Baker. “We've been eating some of the Christmas chocolates we received."
“We are getting daily updates on the other teams and the wind is due to die down, so we'll be fishing today and tomorrow whilst we row.
“We’ve just hit the trade winds and think we’re starting to nail surfing waves in a nine metre boat,” added Steve Baker.
“But how on earth anyone actually eats 6,000 calories a day and fits sleep in is a mystery.”
