NatWest T20 Blast
Thursday, June 16th (7pm)

Gloucestershire make the long trip to Chelmsford on Thursday, 16th June to take on Essex, where they will be looking to maintain their 100% away record in this season’s NatWest T20 Blast competition.

Back-to-back victories over Kent and Middlesex have made it four matches unbeaten on the road for Gloucestershire – and batsman Ian Cockbain is expecting another big performance from the visitors.

He said: “I don’t think there is any real reason why we have been more successful away from home.

“Against Glamorgan last Friday, we struggled in the powerplay and to be 34-3 at that stage had a big impact on our ability to get going and post a big score.

“In the end we felt our total of 168 was about 30-40 short of what we wanted, given the short boundary on the one side.

“We know both Essex have got some good players but we will just try to focus on what we do.

“As well as the power play I think the other main area we will be looking to improve is in the death overs."

Gloucestershire squad (possible): Michael Klinger (c), Hamish Marshall, Ian Cockbain, Chris Dent, Benny Howell, Jack Taylor, Gareth Roderick (w), Tom Smith, Kieran Noema-Barnett, Graeme Van Buuren, Liam Norwell, Matt Taylor, Craig Miles, Andrew Tye.
