Prince’s Trust Young Ambassador Joins The Lansdown Club

Bristol Sport CEO Andrew Billingham makes young business owner, Nadia Abdulla, the youngest Lansdown Club member with a complimentary membership after her work to inspire sport in Bristol.

As founder and director of Park Street Events Bristol, Nadia’s partnership with Bristol Sport started after she hosted Bristol’s Sports Day on College Green in August.

The 25-year-old said: “It was all about bringing the community together to be able to experience all the sporting opportunities Bristol has to offer.”

The event saw Bristol Rugby and Bristol Ladies players as well as Bristol Flyers captain, Greg Streete host sport workshops throughout the day.

Nadia added: “Sixteen different sports took place on College Green that day and working with Bristol Sport was key to the event's success.”

The talented ballet dancer graduated from Bristol University with a degree in Maths and Physics and went to London before returning to Bristol for treatment.

“I had a car accident which left me having to use a stick to walk. Within three days I lost my job, I was told I would never dance again and I lost the ability to walk.”

Nadia’s life changed after she met someone from the Prince’s Trust: “I thought I can either let this injury become me or it can be just a part of me. The Prince’s Trust put me on the Enterprise programme and taught me how to set up my own business, and here I am today.”

Bristol Sport CEO, Andrew Billingham commented: “I was inspired by Nadia’s story and how she turned such a bad situation into such a good one. I hope the complimentary Lansdown Club membership will help the young entrepreneur to use sport to grow her business.”

Off the back of Park Street Events and the success of Park On Park Street which saw more than 20,000 people get involved, Nadia set up The Experience Factory which uses events as a marketing tool.

Nadia added: “As an entrepreneur I have learnt if someone offers you help then you should always take it, which is why the minute Andrew offered me the membership I grabbed the opportunity.”
