Report: Hall Recovers To Take Podium Place

Bristol Sport Racing's Connor Hall recovered from an 11th place start to finish second in the first race of the Rotax Senior Karting Championship.

Despite having his work cut out for him against a strong field of experienced drivers, Connor qualified fourth going into the first two heats.

Forced back to 7th on lap one, Hall recovered to an impressive 2nd and set the fastest lap in heat one.

On for the win in heat two, the 17 year-old secured himself pole position for the first final. It wasn't to be however as midway through the race his engine seized and he was forced to watch the rest of the race from the sidelines.

Making his way through the field on day two, Hall claimed third place at the flag on a dry track suited to his style. The Bristolian headed into the televised final in third position, before being forced off the track at the beginning of the race.  Putting in some great work, Hall moved through the pack to take the lead, before being passed with three laps remaining.

Hall however was not beaten and managed to stick to his rear bumper and make a forceful pass with a lap to go. This manoeuvre ultimately slowed both leading drivers, allowing the third place driver to get the run on both of them and take the lead.

It was an impressive and mature drive from Hall, the youngest driver on the grid, taking home the second place and Driver of the Weekend trophies, which points to a promising season ahead.
