Russell Howard moves homecoming run to Ashton Gate Stadium

We are delighted to announce that Ashton Gate Stadium will host seven performances of Russell Howard’s ‘Respite’ world tour in July.

The internationally acclaimed comedian is set to play a week of socially distanced hometown shows from Monday, July 5th to Saturday July 10th.

Originally set to perform at the Bristol Hippodrome, Ashton Gate Stadium has been confirmed as the alternative venue in response to the government’s step 4 roadmap delay.

Russell Howard said: “I’m delighted to announce my Bristol gigs in July can still happen, but due to social distancing we’ve changed venues and I will now be playing Respite at Bristol City. Can’t wait to see you soon.”

Riding high on the success of his Sky One show The Russell Howard Hour, and his global smash Netflix special Recalibrate, Russell is back on stage where he belongs, making sense of a world that’s spinning out of control.

It’s time for Respite.

★★★★ Evening Standard

★★★★ The Times

“it’s thrilling to see Howard with fire in his belly” ★★★★★ Metro

“world domination is looming… he has grown darker, angrier and more satirical on stage. His sets deal with everything from foreign policy to his fear of death, and he rages as much as he teases.” The Sunday Times

All tour tickets are on general sale now and available at russell-howard.co.uk

Please note that the start time of the show on Wednesday, July 7th has changed. Due to England’s success in the football we’ve decided to bring forward Wednesday night’s show to start at 6pm and finish by 7.20pm so that everyone can still watch the semi-final.

Also, we’re going to be showing the match on the big screens in the stadium after the show so you can stay and watch the whole game if you'd like. The bars and food outlets will also remain open throughout the match.

The new timings (for Wednesday only) are:

Doors:                             4.30pm

Support Act:                   5.30pm

Russell Howard:             6.00pm

Close:                              7.20pm
