Santander Scavenger Hunt raises money for Bristol Sport Foundation

The annual Santander Scavenger Hunt took place across the city on Tuesday (June 5th), with more than 20 teams from local professional firms taking part in the fundraising event for Bristol Sport Foundation.

Each team followed a map with a number of locations marked around the city, including Greville Smyth Park where Bristol Sport Foundation staff put entrants through their paces in a series of physical tests used on the We Love Sport programme.

Teams had 90 minutes to visit as many locations and gather as many points as possible, with deductions for running over the allotted time period.

The event culminated in a networking evening at Friska, near Millennium Square, with a charity raffle raising further funds for the charity.

Santander director, Peter Abel, said: “This is the third year Santander have supported Bristol Sport Foundation and this year’s fundraising event involved a team Scavenger Hunt in the Bristol harbourside area.

“Despite the ominous looking weather, more than 80 people from 20 local professional firms got involved in scavenging for clues and objects around the harbourside, partaking in sports challenges and finishing in Friska Harbourside for some networking food and drinks afterwards.

“On the night, we raised approximately £5,000 for the Foundation and it was great to receive such positive feedback about the event - we are already thinking about plans for next year!”

Santander are one of the Foundation’s Nascence Project and Break the Cycle event partners, as well as one of the businesses involved in volunteering on the Sums and Scrums rugby-themed numeracy programme.
