The Sugar Smart campaign received a boost yesterday with the announcement that sugar-filled soft drinks will see a tax hike in April 2018.
Chancellor Phillip Hammond announced two separate levies of 18p and 24p per litre on sugary drinks in a fight to combat rising obesity and tooth decay.
The Sugar Smart campaign aims to increase awareness of, and reduce sugar consumption across all age groups and communities in the UK.
Bristol Sport Foundation is helping raise awareness of sugar content at Ashton Gate Stadium concessions alongside its community school programmes.
The initiative was launched at Bristol Rugby’s European Challenge Cup clash with Bath and Bristol City’s Severnside derby against Cardiff City in January. It will also be launched at Bristol Flyers BBL match against Cheshire Phoenix on Friday, 7th April.
