Ashton Gate Stadium played host to Jamie Oliver Food Foundation’s mobile Hotpoint kitchen last week, as people of all ages were given a culinary master class.
The Food Foundation teamed up with Bristol Sport Foundation to teach people the basics and benefits of cooking from scratch, while staff and members of the Foundation’s community programmes took part in a number of workshops.
It follows on from the Sugar Smart campaign, which launched at Ashton Gate in January. Led by the council’s public health team, Sugar Smart helps people to recognise how much sugar is in the food they eat.
In places where obesity and diet-related disease is prevalent – which includes Bristol – the kitchen will inspire, educate and leave a legacy of trained leaders in each location – skilling the nation for a healthier future.
