Bristol City’s walking football squad are set to embark on a European adventure when they travel to Britanny, France on Sunday to compete in a two-day, three team tournament.
The six-strong squad – consisting of Keith Gwilym, Alan Gardiner, Alan Jones, Chris Heaton, Ian Neilson and Tim Plummer – will take on a team from Havant, in Hampshire, as well as the hosts, Brittany.
Mark Reynolds, Foundation Degree Mentor and Community Coach at Bristol City Community Trust, said: "I am delighted that we are sending a squad of walking footballers to compete in France.
“Walking football is a great way to be active but this also shows the social and other playing opportunities that come with it."
